Infrastructure & Roads

Strong infrastructure and reliable roads are the backbone of any thriving community—they keep us safe, connected, reduce daily frustration, and support our growing town. My priorities include regular maintenance and upgrades to existing roads, bridges, utilities, and water systems—fixing potholes, easing congestion, and ensuring reliable service without waiting for crises—while planning ahead for future needs as our population grows. We'll tackle bottlenecks and hotspots with practical solutions, pursue outside funding aggressively, and make sure developers pay their full share so growth supports itself. Better infrastructure and roads mean smoother commutes, safer travel, support for local jobs and housing, and more revenue for public safety and services—all while preserving Hollister's small-town feel.

Proposed Plan

My plan delivers proactive, funded fixes tied to controlled growth—prioritizing quick action and long-term vision: Immediate Funding & Acceleration • Pursue state/federal grants aggressively (via council resolution) to bring in quick money for hotspots without new taxes. • Maximize developer contributions upfront by enforcing/strengthening impact fees and agreements on new projects. • Optimize current Measure G allocations to front-load urgent local fixes; extend/renew only if needed, capping any addition at ½ percent maximum to keep taxes low. Priority Repairs & Upgrades • Target congestion hotspots (e.g., Hwy 25/156, Union Road, Ladd Lane, Buena Vista Road, San Felipe Road, and other high-complaint areas) with repairs, maintenance, and safety improvements. • Build on water reliability (ADRoP expansions, aquifer recharge)—prioritizing existing residents with ongoing monitoring. Long-Term Vision • Advocate for full Hwy 25 expressway buildout (widening and interchanges) as the ultimate solution—accelerating reviews, funding, and construction.
